If you follow my Instagram, you noticed that I was at Disney World over the weekend. I will go ahead and let you in on the fact it was a random trip. I honestly do not even remember how the plans happened, or even how we all followed through. Sometimes it can feel like you are stuck in life. Whether it be who you are around, school, work, or where your mind and heart is at in the moment. That is exactly why I took this Disney getaway. I needed a fresh environment with my favorite people, and just take a step out of the busyness of my life.
We left for Disney World bright and early at 4 a.m. on Thursday. The trip was not bad at all and we were lucky enough to not hit traffic. Once there, we explored the hotel a bit and headed to Disney Springs. For those of you who have never been, Disney Springs is a shopping strip with amazing food and stores. We spent the evening shopping at World of Disney and Uniqlo. Seriously check both of these stores out! World of Disney has any Disney based item you can dream of and Uniqlo is a Japanese based Disney store with amazing pricing and incredible designs. After we finished at Disney Springs, we headed back to the hotel to relax at the pool until we decided to rest up for the next day.
Friday was our day at Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom is my absolute favorite park. It’s a classic. The scenery is stunning and leaves you in awe the entire time. I’m almost positive my whole time there Friday I was wide-eyed with my jaw on the floor. This is especially funny because this was not my first trip there, yet I am always speechless with the scenery. We spent all day Friday in Magic Kingdom specifically and it was an absolute blast. All four of us dressed up in our Disney gear and headed to the park at 9 a.m., which is what time it opens. We started the day by taking pictures in front of the castle, of course. We then grabbed some drinks and Mickey Pretzels while taking in the scenery of the castle. Although I did not get to eat a Mickey pretzel due to the many allergies I have, I highly recommend trying one due to how often they are recommended to me.
After we soaked in the scenery, we got in line to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. This ride is newer to the park and is many people’s favorite ride at Magic Kingdom. The line is typically very long for it, but we only had to wait about 40 minutes, which was incredible. What I really like about this ride is the queue line. There are many things to look at and do while you are in line for the ride. Next, we went to the Haunted Mansion ride. This ride is a huge favorite and the graphics in it are fantastic. I love rides that tell a story pertaining to a movie or show. Of course we were starving after all of this, so we ate. We all split a turkey leg from one of the stands. The turkey legs are made ginormous and impossible for one person to eat alone. I highly recommend trying one because they are incredible. We finished our day watching the cavalcades, shopping, and relaxing in front of the castle.
On Saturday we spent all day at Hollywood Studios. We went to breakfast at a place called Olivia’s Cafe not too far from the resorts. We had never heard of it before, decided to try it, and will definitely be going back again. The service and food made for a great start to our day. Once at Hollywood Studios we rushed to get in line for Mickey’s Runaway Railway. It’s a new ride, one I had never done before, so the line tends to be longer. We waited for about an hour, which is great for a brand new ride. It is actually a trackless ride and is very relaxing to be on. The animation and make up of the ride itself is incredible to see. If you find yourself in Hollywood Studios, you have to ride this ride. After this ride, we zipped to a classic ride, Tower of Terror. This ride is my favorite in Hollywood Studios, so it is a given we would be riding it. We only had to wait a little over an hour, which is not horrible for that ride, especially due to the interesting queue line. We finished our day there riding the Slinky Dog coaster, which, although it may seem like a ride for kids only, it absolutely is not. It actually may be my new favorite at that park. We shopped in all the stores, experienced all the cavalcades, and closed out our day eating dinner outside back at our hotel.
I know what you are thinking, why would you want to go to Disney World during a pandemic with all these restrictions on things? Let me go ahead and answer that for you. No one is allowed to stand all up on you waiting in lines, which keeps the place from stinking and the annoyance of someone breathing on your neck out of the picture. It is literally incredible. It made the experience better than any other time I have been. Another huge perk is the park not being jammed packed. They are only allowing so many people in the park in a day and it is incredible. The giant crowds overwhelm me terribly, but that was not an issue this time because of the pandemic. So honestly if you are bored and tired of being home, you should absolutely go to Disney World during this time. It is safe, with different precautions in place, and easier to soak everything in while crowds are low. I have never experienced Disney World leisurely like I did this time, and I am not sure I will ever go back to not doing it leisurely.
